Welcome

Professional storyteller Steve Mynard has been telling tales in and out of school for nearly twenty-five years.

Steve has a large repertoire of traditional folk stories from all over the world. He visits schools around the country to promote the art of storytelling.

Steve also works in historic locations such as castles and stately homes telling tales to children and adults. He’s even told stories one hundred feet underground in an ancient iron mine!

Steve says, ‘Despite television and computer games, children still find a good story enthralling. They love the underlying principles of a story, such as good and bad, and the archetypal personalities. It captures their imagination and they are wonderfully receptive. Adults enjoy a good story too and many parents and grandparents who have experienced the art of storytelling go on to have a go themselves. This is why I do what I do. I would like to think that in hundreds of years’ time, when I am long gone, the stories that I tell will live on.’
